Stress is something that all humans have to some extent, and indeed it can be helpful for short term motivation and it’s necessary for our very survival. It’s how we can elicit the fight or flight response in a dangerous situation.

The problem is when stress becomes very frequent, or impacts on our daily life, our happiness, and even our physical state. If we experience enough stress it will often spill out into physical conditions such as migraines, IBS, skin breakouts, insomnia or a whole host of other issues. It has the potential to lead to severe anxiety, depression or panic attacks.

Stress can make us anxious, irritable, and often unproductive. Society as it is means we must juggle so much all at once. How often do you find yourself multi-tasking? Answering emails while also engaging in another activity? The pace we live at means we’re inducing that fight or flight response on a regular basis but without the essential release and before we have processed the previous stress, we are already on with the next one.
